Pronoun Resources
Personal message from Gayle: As a mom, I have been an ally to my son since 2012. I am happy to share with any parent and anyone in transition. It’s been a journey, and we are OK. Much love. How may I help?
Here is an audio podcast with some ideas when your child is carrying something very weighty and is fearful to tell you.

Additional Resources
The gender unicorn or genderbread person . These resources are a great thing to go over with anyone about the differences between gender, sex, attraction, etc. There are lots of pages that use these images. I linked to the unicorn page I like because it has BOTH an example of a “filled out” unicorn page and a place to download blank ones for people to fill in for themselves.
Hatch is a queer youth group held at the Montrose Center. Many of the kids there are trans or gender expansive. They have groups for 13-20 year olds several days a week. I know they used to have a Hatch Jr. group for 7-12 year olds. The parents of the Jr’s would meet simultaneously for a parent support session. I think this may not have survived the pandemic in the same form that I knew it, but some services are still available.
The Trevor Project . This is a suicide prevention organization that provides support to LGBTQ+ young people. Youth can text or call or chat online for help 24/7. All young queer people need to know about this.
